Making Local Connections, One Talent at a Time

On a recent Tuesday afternoon, I scoped out a new “store” called 3H Market. But the pretty/simple sign displayed in Ballantyne Village doesn’t clue you in to the experience that awaits. Tucked amid other boutique shops and services, 3H is a treasure trove of homemade, handmade and homegrown goodness. Think of 3H as a weekly farmer’s market–without the farm. Well, sort of.

3H, the Charlotte-area’s new shopping experience, features a range of local-owned businesses, many of which have also successfully set up shop in multiple farmer’s markets in town. One of those businesses is run by a young guy named Peter whose stunning bouquet of purple Dahlias, Zinnias, Chrysanthemums and magenta-shoots-I can’t-find-thanks-Google prominently sits on my dining room table. The fragrant Tuberose that tops the enormous blooms has filled my home with a sweet fragrance that reminds me of freshly-misted gardenias that quietly take center stage on my parents’ New Jersey patio.

Vibrant, fragrant bouquets–among other locally-created pleasures–await at 3H Market Shoppes at Ballantyne Village in Charlotte.

The price for this precious perfection is unbeatable at just $10 per “small” bouquet, which features more than a dozen full, vibrant flowers, plus at least 14 shoots and the blooming tuberose. The large bouquet, for just $20, easily makes a grand stand in any executive home, and Peter’s flower selection can match nicely with simple or eclectic décor. Peter’s Farmer’s Market Flowers gets 14 thumbs up–12 from us and 2 from my neighbor who peeked in to say hello but ended up stopping to smell the roses–so to speak!

Stay tuned as I highlight more locally-owned businesses, talented artisans and handmade creations planting a stake in Charlotte’s shopping zones, including 3H. I believe in supporting local talent, so I just HAD to buy a few items from 3H. And I just HAD to test out some products to provide honest reviews for our readers, right? Well, that’s how I justify the unique indulgences one can only find at 3H Market. Check back soon…so much more to come!

3H Market/Shoppes: Open Tuesdays and Saturdays, noon to 6 pm; Ballantyne Village.
